I found a blog about pinging services, which also lists a bunch of them: Quick Online Tips
In WordPress, all you do is go into Options:Writing and scroll down to the “Update Services” box. PingoMatic is the default pinging service (which means everyone with a WP blog is using it!) You can enter a long list of alternative services here.

I use some of the sites that are listed. Everyone should go to pingomatic write down who they ping then add ones from the site that are not listed on pingomatic. This way you make sure your not pinging same sites twice.
