In my previous post, I mentioned that Muvar was different from the other split-testing software on the market in that it swaps out blocks of text and automatically finds the most effective combination. In trying to work out a good question to ask James Brausch about Multi-variate testing, I did some research. Turns out that there are other programs which do the same thing – have a look at these:
Maxymiser
Offermatica
Optimost
The key difference here is that these are all aimed at big corporates, and they’re sold as month-to-month services. They don’t even have prices on their websites – you have to ask for a quote.
Time-Life might be paying more than $100 a month for this…
Muvar, on the other hand, is a script you install on your website (or sites – I don’t think James restricts you to one site). The current version is $100, once-off. I don’t know what Time-Life or EBay are paying Optimost, but I think it might be more than $100 a month.
But I don’t recommend that you buy the program right now. Wait until the new version is released next week, and either buy it on James’ 24-hour special or pay the new price for it.
You should be aware that James has removed two of his products from the market this year (the Ranking Factors course and Statistical Copywriting), and increased the monthly fee for his On Page Ranking software from $100 to $1000.
James is giving away a copy of Terry Dean’s book, Internet Integrity. If it’s not too late, I’d like to read it!
