Marketing Resources

By Derrick | October 3, 2005

One of the biggest challenges faced by anyone wanting to make money on the internet is information overload. There is so much information available, and it’s great, but it quickly becomes obvious that

  • it’s not all of uniformly good quality and
  • it’s impossible for one person to take it all in.
  • How do you get to the point where you know enough to separate the good information from the bad? After all, at some point you have to make up your own mind.
One way is to learn from the people who are actually making money on the internet – the ‘gurus’. Most of these folks have a product or two which will teach you the rudiments of internet marketing – for a price, of course!

You can find out a fair bit about some of the internet marketing gurus at www.gurudaq.com

There are a couple of places where you can find excellent information free of charge, however – at least enough information to help you along the learning curve. Some great resources I’ve discovered are:

  • www.sitesell.com Ken Evoy publishes a number of eBooks on various topics, many of which are available free of charge. Of course, they advertise his web hosting service, Site Build It, but the information is always generally applicable.
  • Internet Marketing Center – the late Cory Rudl’s business is still going strong, under the guidance of Derek Gehl. You can read through IMC’s archived newsletters here.

  • www.simpleology.com – Simpleology is the Simple Science of Getting What You Want. Mark Joyner’s new free multimedia program helps you establish goals and create a system for attaining everything you want in life.

  • There are also a number of Internet Marketers who publish newsletters with more useful information than the usual thinly disguised adverts. These are highly recommended:

  • Perry Marshall – Perry always impresses me with his ability to find something new, interesting and potentially profitable about marketing on and off the internet.
  • Marvin Haycock – I joined Marvin’s mailing list because he’s a fellow South African. He shares a huge number of great ideas and techniques with is readers.
  • Dr Ralph Wilson – Dr Wilson’s weekly newsletter is always smart and useful.
