Small business owners often try to do everything themselves. This can work when a new business is just getting off the ground, as it keeps costs down. But as a business acquires more clients, it becomes more and more difficult for the business owner to do everything.

One way to solve this problem is for the business owner to identify the tasks which they do not want to do themselves – the repetitive, boring jobs which need to be performed consistently every day – and to get someone else to do them. In a brick and mortar business, this might mean hiring an employee. For online businesses, it usually means finding someone online.

Outsourcing repetitive Internet marketing tasks to someone thousands of miles away is easier than ever, thanks to websites like Elance.com, Guru.com and RentACoder.com.

I’m interested in learning about your outsourcing experience – maybe you could take a few minutes to fill in a quick survey for me, at OutsourceFreedom.com.

Richard Lee has a great post on his blog about task responsibility. As you move towards outsourcing every process in your business, your personal involvement becomes less and less necessary.

Eventually, you become a business owner, by Robert Kiyosaki’s definition – you can leave your business completely for a year and get back to find it running as well as, or better than it ran before you left.

I’ll be launching my intern program later this week – watch out for it. It’s the first step in not having to do it all myself.
